Overview
The Mission of BRACE is to have every individual, church, business, nonprofit and civic organization involved in ensuring that our community is able to respond to and quickly recover from any type of disaster. The Escambia County Office of Emergency Management is responsible for managing emergencies, but they cannot do it alone. There are many critical services needed to address the impacts of disaster that require the involvement of community based organizations. In partnership with Escambia County Office of Emergency Management, BRACE coordinates that involvement.
The current BRACE Program of Work includes services such as promoting personal responsibility and self-sufficiency during disasters, providing childcare to first responders (emergency management personnel) and continuing life-saving services to the homebound (persons with disabilites and frail elderly) during and after a disaster.
